Quality Vision leads to Quality Workmanship

Mr. Richard Rogers holds the beautiful wooden
box that he made for his surgeon, Dr. Irena Cherfas.

Fine woodworking takes patience, a steady hand, great eyesight.  Thanks to Dr. Irena Cherfas and the staff of LVC4S, patient Richard Rogers has the eyesight that he needs to do the precise woodworking he enjoys.  When he came in for a recent appointment he brought a special gift that showed how well he can see...a handcrafted wooden candy box.

"This is what I need my eyes for!"  he told his cataract surgeon   Dr. Irena Cherfas. He choose a unique way to show his appreciation, with a gift that shows the improved quality of his eyesight!

This beautifully crafted work of art took over 20 hours to create. Mr. Rogers started the process by affixing a pattern to the blank wood block.  He then began to cut the wood with a Dremmel tool, and finished the cutting with a fine scroll saw.   The sides of the box are expertly fitted together to form the candy dish.  He said that everyone needs a hobby, and that woodworking makes him happy.

His very thoughtful gift is displayed at checkout station in our Allentown office, filled with candy.  Thank you to Mr. Rogers!  We appreciate your craftsmanship, and your very "sweet" gift.
