Caring for Families...

As part of LVC4S continuing commitment to support our those in need in our community, this month our staff teamed up to provide "care baskets" for families and caregivers of hospice patients at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. This special project was inspired by our Clinical Manager, Charle-lene Schrantz, who has a special connection to Cedarbrook.

Our Front Office Staff was happy to donate to the cause!

Over the past six weeks, our staff members collected items for "Care Baskets" that will be provided to families whose loved ones are in hospice care.  These baskets include items to make family members more comfortable during their visits to the hospice at Cedarbrook, which often include overnight stays.

The Clinical Staff at LVC4S are a generous bunch!

We collected  include toothbrushes, toothpaste, small packs of tissues, wash cloths, pens, pencils, pads of paper, note cards, puzzle books, and snack items.  These small comfort items can mean a great deal at a difficult time.

Andrea Ellwood of Cedarbrook extended a heartfelt thank you to the LVC4S staff for the donations.  She noted that this effort will make a tremendous impact on their ability to comfort families.

It's time to PLAY BALL!

Ryan Frinzi and FeFe!
Did you know that Lehigh Valley Center for Sight is the Official Ophthalmologist & LASIK Surgeon of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs?   LVC4S is also the sponsor for three of IronPigs games this year.  At our first sponsored game on April 6th, the weather was a little chilly, but LVC4S employees and their families, along with the rest of the crowd enjoyed the Pigs first win of the year playing 11 innings!  The fans got their money's worth that night. Ryan Frinzi, 9 year old son of our billing department's Lisa Frinzi, had the honor of throwing out the first pitch!

Dr. Mark Moran, the Official LASIK Surgeon, of the IronPigs, made an
appearance on the radio with Matt Provence and Jon Schaeffer.  Jon shared that he has plans to get LASIK surgery in the near future with Dr. Moran, stay tuned.

From the radio booth Dr. Moran went to talk with Doug Heater (preshow host for the IronPigs Television Network).  The best part was Doug's headset not working and neither Dr. Moran or Doug knew they were being queued that they were on the air.  Finally the people standing in front of them waving them hands frantically, mouthing you're on the air, gave them a clue.

Finally Dr. Moran made a stop at the new Porkcenter - the Ironpigs new social media center.  There he shared twitter handles @porkcenter, @markm, @centerforsight.   He also signed the wall with his twitter handle.

Mark your calendars for the next LVC4S sponsored dates, June 8th and August 2nd featuring fabulous fireworks!  See you there.

Doctor's Day Celebration

Did you know that March 30th is Doctor's Day?  This annual event is dedicated to celebrate the contribution of physicians who serve our country by caring for its citizens.  The first Doctor's Day was observed on March 30th, 1933.  In 1990, the House and Senate officially declare March 30th "National Doctor's Day."

Happy Doctors Day to Dr. Ahdieh, Dr. Cherfas, Dr. Moran, Dr. Ross and Dr. Trachtenberg. You have made a difference in the lives of many.

At Lehigh Valley Center for Sight, the staff pitched in to honor our doctors with a beautiful cake to celebrate.  Pictured here is Dr. Irena Cherfas.

Valued Employees

Our employee recognition program brings much deserved attention to the exceptional care and service that our staff provides.

We were lucky enough to snap a few photos of employees who recently received a thank you...and a Dunkin Donuts gift card, in recognition for  for a job well done.

Dr. Ahdieh presents a gift to Valerie Hotmer from our front office staff in Allentown,
who received high marks for patient care.
